Freeway to Rap Over Only Eminem Beats in Tribute Mixtape

freeway2It looks like Freeway is a big fan of Eminem, which makes him one of many artists that have come out and claimed Eminem as one of the best rappers (similar to Lil' Wayne and Lupe coming out and showing respect to Em). Freeway's mixtape album is going to be titled "Freelapse" which is a play on the name of Eminem's most recent album, "Relapse".

Check out the quote below and look out for the quote about what made Freeway get inspired to record over Eminem's beats.  Some times, creative inspiration can be found anywhere, including in someone's beard.

"I'm dropping the Freelapse it's a tribute to Eminem using all of his beats," Free explained in an new interview.

"What happened was Em did a freestyle and he was like 'I disappeared I was hiding in Freeways beard,' so I sampled that, made it a hook, and used it for a song. After that, I came up with the idea. Eminem is a talented emcee, he's got a lot of hot beats, and another artist would probably be scared to rap to his beats because he's murdered every beat. So I felt that it was a challenge for me to try to live up to the expectation."

Before Drake ever made it big with his hit "Best I Ever Had" and various features, he was just an average rapper that was compared to Bow Wow.  Listen in to this audio clip where he sends his music to a radio station and gets critiques from listeners.  It's interesting how Drake did this before he got a record deal, and how confident he was that if he didn't get a record deal, he'd put it out himself.
